One Angel Square | Architectural photography Manchester

One Angel Square Manchester Copyright Dan Dunkley (DanD photography)

A recent still of the Co-Op flagship headquarters at One Angel Square, Manchester. I had the opportunity to photograph the interior of this great – greenest in the world – building last winter for a client (see here for a quick blog update about that). However, at that time the weather wasn’t the best for the exterior shots it deserved, so with the recent return of the big light in the sky, I made a point of completing the portfolio.

Latest Timelapse Project | Time lapse photography Yorkshire

My latest timelapse project  for a construction client of a modular build in Yorkshire. This video contains a mixture of short term timelapse footage captured via a 2 camera shoot over the course of half a day (intro), long term timelapse footage using 2 weather sealed un-manned timelapse units over several weeks (middle section), and some nice track and slider filming of the final completed project at the end. Enjoy.

Virtually nearly

Oculus Rift by commercial photographer Dan Dunkley

Some of my recent images being used in a publication for Danish pharmaceutical giants Novo Nordisk. The shoot took place during the recent Diabetes UK Professional Conference 2014, on-location at the Liverpool Echo Arena.

Novo Nordisk are a global healthcare company with more than 90 years of innovation and leadership in diabetes care. Their ‘Diabetes Voyager’ booths, that you can see people maniacally using in these pics, form part of a new initiative to use cutting edge technology to help educate people about the disease.

The cutting edge tech driving the Voyager booths at the expo came in the form of Oculus Rift. Usually in my blog posts I talk about all things photo only. For this one I’m going totally off piste and it’s all about this new piece of hardware, and in particular games….

Faking the sun

interior photographer west yorkshire

A recent architectural photography assignment found me in deepest West Yorkshire, on a typically dank and dreary winter’s day. The prime mission was residential interiors, so you might think that poor weather shouldn’t really play a part for a job indoors. Well, it does.

I haven’t done one of these types of posts for a while, so fellow photographers may want to read on for a few tips on how to enhance interior scenes and basically ‘fake the sun’. Pay attention at the back.

(If you’re a potential client looking for an architectural and interior photographer, and you’ve stumbled upon this blog post due to the excellent keywording come on in and have a look at the images, then get in touch.)

New Foxfield: The Story

Final film from my ‘BUILD’ series of videos for my Manchester based housing/ construction client. This longer piece is more rounded and tells the whole story of the 18 month ‘New Foxfield’ development project (beginning in the spring of 2012), tying together the previous 4 parts into one more narrative short feature.

One Angel Square | Co-operative group headquarters | Manchester

One Angel Square Co-op headquarters Manchester, Copyright Dan Dunkley

This week saw the official opening of the Co-operative group’s flagship headquarters in Manchester – One Angel Square – by the Queen. I had the privilege of photographing this ground breaking, greenest in the world(!) building on architectural interior assignment earlier this year, so it seems an apt time to finally get around to a blog update.

BUILD #4

Final teaser short from my ‘BUILD’ series of videos for my Manchester-based housing client. This one documents the official opening day of the New Foxfield development. Lovely sliding shots of sun drenched roads and shiny new builds were planned to  feature for a glossy celebratory feel to this, but true to Manchester form the weather conspired against us.

The next and final film will feature the whole story so far so keep an eye out for that one.

Corporate headshots

Corporate portraits headshots

First blog update for a while. No apologies – holidays and general tardiness are pretty much to blame. Back on the business horse, corporate portraits are something I’ve found myself doing more and more recently, and these are just a few samples from a recent corporate portrait headshot session in Leeds. They’re fairly straightforward in terms of style, lighting  and substance, but these aren’t studio based, so as ever with on-location work there were the usual challenges to overcome.

A decent, well-lit, friendly-faced head and shoulders shot is pretty much a necessity these days if you’re in the business of marketing yourself or your company effectively. Website profiles, or even LinkedIn if you’re into that kind of networking horror, really do benefit from a snappy corporate portrait.
If you would like headshots taken on-location at your company or place of business, get in touch to discuss the details.
